Makeup: What Does It Make You Feel?

You ever heard that old song The Girl from Impanema, like some Latin spiceyness mixed with some jazz flavor? That's what I was feeling. With my wide lips I NEVER wear red and with my huge eyes, never to drastic of colors. However, I felt like doing a little something different. I have honestly no place to go to tonight nor any future plans but being in the state of boredom in my dorm I decided to try something new. Which is what people should do when they wear makeup. It's nice to experiment. Your makeup should make you feel...

and whatever else good vibes you receive. Let me know if you like this.. and sorry for hiatus, I've just been really lazy. hay we all get there sometimes.

Jewlery Has Become My New Creative Outlet

So I'm on an artistic crave to make more jewelry. I decided to challenge myself and make some drop down earrings along with the buttons ones. I love the simplicity and that both can be worn day or night. I plan on making many more and many more styles :)

DIY Cropped Sweater

Whenever I got shopping, I say to myself now, If I can do it at home, I'm not going to buy it. I like cropped things and this new style of cropped grandpa sweaters have really caught my eye. So I took one form my grandma's closet and went to town on it. Now If you have one or intend to make one, you can wear it with anything. I mean skirts, shorts,n pants you name it, it goes.

I made the sweater an off the shoulder then tucked in some of the sweater inside and sowed away.

Well here is my DIY sweater its really simple and if you don't know how to use a sewing machine then you can do this all by hand. Try making one!

DIY T-shirts go a Long Way

I love doing DIY especially with T-shirts. It was really simple.
1. Cut the hem and neck line of tee. Cut neck line until you have the off the shoulder effect
2. Cut as many strips of the t-shirt only on the front and then pull each one
3. Tie the bottom of each strip into knots
4. Get your dye's and apply as you like. Use whatever colors makes you feel cooler than ever! I chose brown, green and black
5. Let the shirt dry, and then still put into a dryer for 20 mins
DONE!

Here is the t-shirt in full view. I used green and brown spray die for the strips and black spray paint for the tips

DIY Chain

I love doing DIY especially with t-shirts. SOOOO, I made  chain thing out of a regular black t-shirt. It's really easy to make. All you need is a t-shirt, scissors, thread and needle. Have fun with it.

1.All you do is cut the sides of the tee, the sleeves, neck and hem.
2.Then cut vertical stands throughout the t-shirt
3. For each stand, stretch it until its long
4. Combine 15 pieces together and tie them at the bottom, then drape it over your neck
5. Then gt 5 more pieces, connect them to one side. Then drape it to the next and connect
6. Keep doing step 5 until you get the length you want it and the fullness
7. If you have extra material from the t-shirt or fabric around the house just tie it into a bow as big or as small as you want, anywhere around the chain
8. Voila, Finis.

Makeup For Everyday

For some, makeup can take minutes, others, a lifetime. I made a video showing people that everyday makeup should not take more than 5 minutes. Also, you don't need to buy all kinds of "gadgets" these make up companies tell you that you need to buy. With only a few resources, the job will get done. Simplicity is the key.

Cutting From the Inside Out

Today i wanted to do a DIY not so strenuous or time consuming. This one by far was the shortest. It took me probably 5 minutes.... tops.

Have:
1. A plain t-shirt of any color
2. A pair of scissors

Before you cut. turn the shirt inside out and cut only on the first layer, either the front or back. Cut across the shoulder, be sure not to cut to far. Also cut across the bottom to whatever length you have in mind.  Make small, big or whatever size cuts you want on the shirt, make it look great.

With the extra material from the bottom of the t-shirt, tie a bow across the other shoulder.

Voila, c'est finis. Here is the final product, that wasn't so hard.

DIY Your T-shirt Is Your Canvas

Today i wanted to paint. Not on canvas, or on paper but on a t-shirt. At first i was like, what kind of design could i possibly do, i mean I'm not really the painter but my imagination went wild and i came up with some kind of design, also incorporating my ethnic fabric, so i think it went well. I shall go step by step but also remember you don't have to do the same design as me or use the same colors, or even the same colored t-shirt.

You will need:
1 White t-shirt
2 colors preferably Plaid Fabric Paint Black and metallic gold
Card board to fit in between the shirt
2 brush sponges there like a dollar for 4 at Jonann Fabrics
A cup of water

Make sure you pick the colors u want because once it hits the fabric, its hard to get off.
With the black fabric paint, create a smoky design at the bottom of the t-shirt. Make it like a gradient, dark on the bottom to a lighter town going towards the top. Make sure not to add to much water or it will seep through or wont dry fast enough.

Once you have the bottom of your t-shirt complete, get the gold paint. Place the brush towards the left corner or side and try to make a line as straight and neat as possible across the shirt towards the right. Make as many lie as you want, it should almost look like tree branches, (that's the intended plan) but just remember if you make a mistake on a line, its OK, it cant always be perfect. However if you want straight straight lines, then use a side of a piece of cardboard and paint against it.

I made my lines so at the end, they curve. Here are the branches i chose to draw. Now let your shirt dry for 5 minutes so at least the paint can settle. If you can see my hand i am laying on a piece of fabric. But your fabric into circles, however big or small you want them. Cut the circles according to the number of branches. Make the fabric STAND OUT! Use a glue gun to put them down. Its much easier and quicker.

Here is the finished product, make sure to let it dry for 24 hours and then wash, instructions on how to make the paint look it best should be on the back of the paint tube. I believe there is no shirt like it. Imagine what yours could look like, you can always add you own twist to whatever you have at home.

DIY Kinda Thing

So Ive decided since i design t-shirts, i should design some by hand. Its a little strenuous but fun at the same time. If you didn't know by now, I am Nigerian. Yes Nigerian and (no i don't jump around a fire and howl and make clicking sounds.) Nigerians are known for their elaborate dressing, and what makes us different are our types of fabrics. They are bright, colorful and different. So i cut it up and made a design with my own t-shirt. To me this looks like a graffiti looking thing, am i the only one that thinks that?

Here is a Men's V-neck. I cut two 16in pieces and also 8in peices. With a sewing machine or by hand(Use the machine!) create whichever shape or form you would like with the 4 pieces of fabric. As you can see i made the UP sign. Sew along the edges so the fabric stays put. Iron the fabric once your done and VOILA Finis!

-Men's V-neck American Apparel
-Nigerian imported fabric
- White silicone wristband Unique 28.com "Certified Boss"
- Fabricated Bangles

Here is a closer look of the bangles and ring i was wearing. Sorry it wasn't to visible in the pictures. (My cousin cant take pictures... LOVE YOU FEYI!) The bangles and ring are wrapped and sewed with fabric. The colors are bright, the pattern exotic and the look is just different. Nigerians know how to make certain things POP! These jewelery pieces will also be apart of the Unique28.com bands section ASAP. If anyone has any  t-shirtideas, i would love to hear, just leave a comment, I'm always open for ideas.
